Nursery & Landscape
The Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event (CDE) is a competition designed to test students' skills in various aspects of the nursery and landscaping industry. It assesses their knowledge in maintaining plants, evaluating equipment and services, and performing landscape design.
Students will learn to identify and care for different plant species including, proper watering, pest control, fertilization. The CDE may include scenarios where students must evaluate the suitability and cost-effectiveness of different tools, equipment, and landscaping services. Students may be asked to create or analyze landscape plans, considering factors such as plant selection, soil type, and sunlight exposure.
